FORT WORTH-DALLAS (Nov. 1, 1999) - Just when you thought it couldn't get bigger and better - it does! The 2000 race season at Texas Motor Speedway features more events than ever before. In addition to NASCAR and Indy Racing events, the speedway offers World of Outlaw sprint car and American Le Mans and Trans-Am road racing to fans next year.
Season tickets, ranging from $160 to $350 for the six IRL and NASCAR events, remain on sale for two more weeks and are the only way to guarantee the best seats for all events. Individual tickets to all events go on sale to the public on Saturday, Nov. 13. Season ticket holders receive two free qualifying day pit passes for each race with the purchase of six season tickets.
"It is a new millennium of speed at Texas Motor Speedway," speedway general manager Eddie Gossage said. "Our fans have told us they want more racing, and we are delivering that with an exciting race season next year."
Individual race event tickets will be available at all area Ticketmaster locations as well as Texas Motor Speedway ticket office (817-215-8500) or by visiting the speedway web site at www.texasmotorspeedway.com.
The 2000 race season begins with the NASCAR Winston Cup weekend March 30 - April 2. The race week debuts with the Pennzoil World of Outlaws Southern Bleacher Classic on Thursday, March 30 and Friday, March 31. The NASCAR Busch Series Texas 300 is Saturday, April 1, followed by the NASCAR Winston Cup Series DIRECTV 500 on Sunday, April 2.
The summer schedule at Texas Motor Speedway features the first of two Pep Boys Indy Racing League and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events at the speedway. The Pronto Auto Parts 400 truck race is Friday, June 9, with the Longhorn 500 IRL race scheduled for Saturday, June 10.
The fall slate of races in 2000 will be a busy time at the speedway. The Grand Prix of Texas is a new style of racing for fans at Texas Motor Speedway. The Labor Day Weekend event will showcase the American Le Mans Series on Saturday, Sept. 2, and the BF Goodrich Trans-Am Series on Sunday, Sept. 3. Sprint cars return to the speedway with the O'Reilly Texas Challenge on Thursday, Oct. 12, and Saturday, Oct. 14. The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series O'Reilly 300 is Friday, Oct. 13, with the Pep Boys Indy Racing League Mall.com 500 set for Sunday, Oct. 15.
