The Association of Graduates and Academy Racing, Incorporated have entered into an exclusive partnership to bring the West Point family into the world of auto racing.

The collaboration will take place over the next two years with Academy Racing fielding a car in the Indy Racing League for a limited schedule in 2001 and a full schedule in 2002. 20

Both seasons' efforts will include the biggest race of them all, the Indianapolis 500 with over 400,000 trackside spectators and a TV audience of millions.

Potential Bicentennial Celebration Activities include the following:
1. Academy Racing's use of cadets as the "over-the-wall" pit crew in the 2002 Indianapolis 500.
2. A USMA static display in "Gasoline Alley" or even a booth at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the 2001 or 2002 races.
3. The Indy Racing League and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) are ardent supporters of veterans and the Armed Forces. The IMS currently sponsors an Armed Forces Day during the month of May with significant armed forces participation. Academy Racing will work with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Indy Racing League to create a "West Point Day". Many on-and off-track activities can be planned for this event.

Benefits to the Academy include:
1. Print and electronic media exposure for the Military Academy with special emphasis on the Bicentennial Celebration
2. Recruiting and admissions opportunities at the Indianapolis 500 and 12 other racing venues
3. Direct mailing and internet promotions on the team's website at: www.academyracing.com.
4. Donations of Indy style race cars, engines and data acquisition equipment to West Point.
5. Donations and technical support to the Academy's Department of Civil & Mechanical Engineering cadet "Mini Baja" competition team.
6. Cadet and faculty participation in scientific and engineering research with today's latest racing technology.
7. Academy Racing personnel will be available to West Point for lectures and academic and admissions consulting.
8. Academy Racing sponsored Academic Individual Advanced Development Program support (AIAD's) in the fields of mechanical and electrical engineering.

Benefits to the Association of Graduates and alumni:
1. Source of pride for all Alumni based upon having 1 of only 33 cars in the Indy 500 field.
2. Bicentennial Celebration media exposure from Academy Racing's participation in a major racing venue.
3. Access to Academy Racing's industry partners and networks.
4. Direct and "in kind" donations to the AOG from Academy Racing during the life of the two-year partnership. Academy Racing is currently raising funds and seeking sponsors for the 2001 and 2002 racing seasons. Sponsors will have the opportunity to co-promote the Academy's significance to the nation simultaneous with their advertising efforts.

Additionally, monetary sponsorships and donations to Academy Racing will be recognized by the AOG. {dan@academyracing.com)
