Ashley Judd and Dario Franchitti have mutually agreed end their marriage. The talented and beautiful actress from Kentucky fell in love with the charismatic Scotsman, and they were married in a castle in Scotland – what dreams are made of; but even the best dreams can fall apart.
The setting at the Skibo Castle on December 12, 2001 was what dreams are made of as they said their vows. Just last year at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, their happiness and their love was shining brightly when Franchitti landed his third Indy 500 victory.
Their statement was made to People magazine on their online website: "We have mutually decided to end our marriage," the statement said. "We'll always be family and continue to cherish our relationship based on the special love, integrity, and respect we have always enjoyed."
Even when she had had her own prime time television show or a movie to make, Judd still attended her husband’s IndyCar races. She was easy to spot due to her floppy hats and sundresses. Her first appearance at a NASCAR race in 2008 caused a stir due to her casual lady-like attire.
Judd still feels more comfortable in her garden than she does at a race track. When he tried his hand racing the NASCAR stock cars, Judd admired his “adventuresome spirit”
The couple may be ending their marriage but they are not ending their friendship! One can hope that their plans to remain “family forever” will work out as both have supported one another for over 12 years in their chosen careers.
The four-four time IndyCar champion and the actress, who may become a politician, might be ending their 11 year marriage but their love and friendship will survive forever.
Once the news broke, Judd tweeted: "Family forever". Franchitti later responded with a tweet of his own: "family forever."
