Danica Patrick, #7 Motorola Dallara/Honda/Firestone
"I'm certainly looking forward to racing at Kansas this weekend. Our
attitude is just that we'll start thinking more about competing for the
championship. It's not that I haven't been, but it's even more realistic
now with having a win. They always say that first one is the hardest one
to get, which I agree, and now hopefully we can get more, which will
obviously help us in the championship. We just have to be consistent all
year and that continues at Kansas."
Tony Kanaan, #11 Team 7-Eleven Dallara/Honda/Firestone
"This is one of the few tracks in the series where the Team 7-Eleven car
is flat-out all the way around. Because of the 15-degree banking and
smooth surface, there isn't a spot on the track where we have to lift.
That makes momentum and positioning very important. You can't lose any
momentum at this place or you'll lose several positions. When we used to
race in the middle of the summer there, it was brutally hot, but even now
in the April race you can find the track to be a little bit slippery."
Marco Andretti, #26 Forsythe Dallara/Honda/Firestone
"We have to put the last two races behind us and really focus on being
quick at Kansas. The car was great at Homestead and I felt like the
Forsythe car was good at Motegi, too. Our focus has to be getting a
comfortable race car and then we'll be okay on Sunday."
Hideki Mutoh, #27 Formula Dream Dallara/Honda/Firestone
"It feels like it
has been a while since I last raced in the States since I went to Japan
right after the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. Kansas Speedway is a
great facility and I am looking forward to racing there in the IndyCar
Series. I think the race in Kansas this weekend will be a great
opportunity for me to prepare for the Indy 500."
Raphael Matos, #27 AFS/AGR Dallara/Firestone
"This is my first race at
Kansas and I'm looking forward to it. We were very quick at Homestead
all weekend and Kansas is a track that's similar to Homestead. Each time
I get into the car on an oval, I'm learning and improving so I need to
take advantage of all the practice time we have at Kansas. We've been
able to get one victory so far this season, but I definitely think the
AFS/AGR car is capable of winning more."
Arie Luyendyk, Jr., #27 AGR/AFS Dallara/Firestone
"Kansas is a track where I've enjoyed driving in the past. We've only
raced on an oval once this year and I thought we had a pretty good run
there, so I think the AFS/AGR team will have a good weekend at Kansas.
Rafa and I are still both in the championship hunt so we need to keep
getting quality finishes to keep the pressure on the guys at the top."
