Geoff Boss of Naragansett, R.I. announced today that he has signed with Lucas Motorsports to partner his brother Andy in the 2000 Dayton Indy Lights Series.

Both of the Boss brothers are Skip Barber Three Day Racing School graduates and have competed in the Skip Barber Race Series as well as the Barber Dodge Pro Series. Younger brother Peter is also Skip Barber trained. He finished eighth in the 1999 Barber Dodge Pro Series, notching a pole position at Mid Ohio and a third place at the inaugural Skip Barber Formula Dodge National Championship race held at Lime Rock Park this past October. He is expecting to return to the Pro Series for 2000.

"I feel good about continuing with Lucas Motorsports (formerly Lucas Place). I got their first win this year and got their first pole and podium the year before," Geoff said. "Andy and I put in some hard work last year, and I hope it pays off. I'm really looking forward to getting off and running."

Geoff Boss scored his first Indy Lights win earlier this year at the street circuit in Toronto, Canada where he set a qualifying record, and then went on to win the race wire-to-wire.

With his one year extension signed, Lucas Motorsports appears to be the only all-American effort in this year's Indy Lights series. Both of the drivers, the staff and entire crew is all comprised of Americans, something which Boss thinks is special.

"It has to be a big year for me in order to move into Champ Car in 2001," Boss added.

The Boss brothers are joined in the Indy Lights ranks by former Barber Dodge Pro Series standouts Tony Renna, and Jeff Simmons, with Chris Menninga pending an announcement in the near future.
