MANN TO TEST ON ROAD COURSE WITH SAM SCHMIDT MOTORSPORTS

Following her recent test at Kentucky Speedway, Pippa Mann is returning to the cockpit with Sam Schmidt Motorsports, at the Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama. The one-day test is scheduled for Monday 9th November, where Mann will get to drive the Firestone Indy Lights car around the 2.3- mile road course.

The young British driver completed a successful test for Sam Schmidt Motorsports at the end of October, where AFS/Andretti Green Racing were also testing in Kentucky, with drivers Charlie Kimball and Martin Plowman. Mann finished the day just 0.02 seconds off Kimball's best run, and a couple of tenths quicker than her 2009 team mate.

Speaking about the post-season testing, Mann said: "Kentucky was a really good experience. The Sam Schmidt Motorsports car is very different from the Panther Racing car. The engineers have a lot of experience and knowledge, and it was great to learn so much more about oval racing in just one day. The team made me feel very welcome and I'm definitely looking forward to getting back into one of their cars and seeing what's possible on a road course. My main goal at the test on Monday is to understand what their car wants, and then start learning how to put that into practice."

Mann completed her debut Firestone Indy Lights season with Panther Racing, achieving a string of top 15 finishes, including three top ten results. The rookie driver also managed to claim a top ten qualifying spot in all of the oval races, and started her final race of the season from third on the grid.
