Yacamán, Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing Return to the Road Course at Watkins Glen

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (June 30, 2010) -- After two rounds of oval racing, No. 10 Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing driver Gustavo Yacamán and team will head to the picturesque Watkins Glen International for the Corning 100, Round 6 of Firestone Indy Lights on the Fourth of July weekend.

Yacamán did well at the 3.4-mile, 11-turn road course during his rookie season in 2009. After starting 18th, he picked up 11 spots in the 100-mile race. He is looking forward to returning to the road course.

"Watkins Glen is an awesome track," Yacamán said. "I love the surroundings, and I love the track. It's a really fast track where there are a lot of opportunities to pass. After two ovals, I am ready to turn right again! This is my specialty, and I am going to make it count. "

This weekend's race at Watkins Glen is the first of five consecutive road/street course events.

Yacamán recently competed in the Morse Park Triathlon in Indianapolis, which he finished in just over one hour and a half. He hopes that that the triathlon will help his chances at The Glen.

"Doing triathlons or any sort of athletic race helps the endurance of your body," the 19-year-old driver said. "The cardiovascular capabilities are improved, and now, during the summer when it is pretty hot, it also helps my body get used to extreme conditions such as the ones I drive with in the car. Besides, it's always fun to be outdoors and competing against people. "

With current weather reports predicting the temperatures in the high 80s, Yacamán has conditioned himself in the heat and looks to have a strong race in the No. 10 machine.

Yacamán will be on track beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, July 3rd, followed by another practice at 11:10 a.m. Qualifying begins at 3 p.m. After a morning warm-up at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 4th, the 29-lap, 100-mile race will begin at 1:30 p.m. (All times are ET).
