Younessi Racing on fast track to recovery

INDIANAPOLIS, IN: Younessi Racing, a young and upcoming team, has been showing great potential most recently with their two car effort at the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix. After continuous improvement throughout the weekend and a strong qualifying effort, the team was in a position to enjoy its first podium finish, but a devastating crash by car number 15 on lap 13 of the Firestone Indy Lights™ race prematurely ended the team's strong performance.

The team, that had given driver Peter Dempsey an opportunity to compete in the series, was greatly disappointed when Peter crashed in two races in a row. Therefore, Younessi Racing has decided to part ways with Peter Dempsey who was unable to finish either race despite the high hopes the team had after substantial investment and effort to give him a chance to compete once again. The team is now finishing repairs on the badly damaged #15 Younessi Racing car and interviewing the lineup of potential drivers for its return to Firestone Indy Lights competition.

"We learned a great deal after our experiences so far this season" said Team Owner / Driver Rodin Younessi. "It is unfortunate that Peter was involved in multiple crashes in the two races despite our efforts to give him a chance to race again. I certainly did not expect him to get in trouble back to back. It is unfortunate that his interests were not aligned with the team's best interest. At this level we have to address issues like this quickly and cannot repeat the same mistakes. Therefore, our team will no longer be sponsoring his driving efforts. We wish him the best of luck," said Rodin Younessi.

"Now we move on to the next chapter of our team's history. We know that we can be successful against the veteran larger teams. We have assembled a very talented and dedicated group of professionals to compete and I remain enthusiastic about Younessi Racing's future. We have been contacted by several very talented drivers in U.S. and Europe and are in process of reviewing their racing resumes and interviewing the potential candidates. We are also not only fine tuning our multiple Indy Lights cars and considering continuing our run with the series but have been in contact by some of the other professional racing series and looking at expanding into those series. Our goal is to have a dynamic team with cross platform compatibility to be able to compete at races and series that are rewarding competitively and popular with a large fan base. Our sponsors certainly have a vested interest in exposure in the popular and well received competitions with high level of viewing audience. I am very excited about the plans for our future and will be making more announcements soon about our driver line up and the direction of our team."

The team will release their plans and driver lineup in the near future.
