Guelph, ON. -- March 8, 2006 -- Current Stars of Karting western division Junior Intercontinental A (JICA) champion Brett Smrz finishes the Florida Winter Tour with stellar performances in both the JICA and Rotax Junior classes clinching the titles in both divisions.

With the double championships, Smrz becomes the first driver in Florida Winter Tour history to claim two titles in the same season

Round two of the Florida Winter Tour at Moroso Motorsports Park saw Brett take two first place finishes in the JICA class as well as a second and third in the Rotax Junior class. These finishes set him up to be in contention for the point's championship to be decided at the Ocala round.

Round three held at the Ocala Gran Prix facility had Brett finishing second on Saturday and first on Sunday, clinching the title in the JICA category. Brett finished the Rotax Junior series with a 5th place finish on Saturday and a 3rd place finish on Sunday taking the title in that division also.

Brett would like to thank his tuners, Gregg Smrz and Wes Phillips for tuning the chassis and motors and everyone under the First Kart tent for all their help and support. Thanks also goes out to TRP and On Track Promotions, and a big thanks to Woltjer Racing Engines for supplying engines that continue to deliver front running performance.
