February 1, 2010 -- P1 Engines had another very successful scoring podiums and race wins on both coasts of the United States. With drivers competing at the Pro Kart Challenge event in Southern California and the Championship Karting International (CKI) Florida Cup in South Florida, P1 Engines claimed three pole positions, one victory and five podiums between the two events.

Leading the way at the Pro Kart Challenge event at Calspeed Kart Center in Southern California was Tony Kart pilot Gustavo Menezes. The talented driver used his P1 Leopard power to take the pole position, score fast lap and claim the main event win in Superkarts! USA program. Fellow P1 Engines driver and Maddox pilot Bobby Kelley would keep pace with Menezes as he managed to put his P1 prepared Motori 7 off pole but fell to a sixth place finish in the main event as a broken bumper in the pre final forced him to start from the tail of the field.

Travis Lowe provided P1 Engines with its second podium on the Pro Kart weekend. After early engine troubles Lowe and his crew made the switch to a P1 Rok TT powerplant and showed great speed on his way to a podium result. Devin Lindsey would be P1's other TaG competitor as he would drive to a solid fourth place result.

Across the United States, Top Kart driver Taylor Miinch was doing battle in the inaugural CKI Florida Cup in both the Rotax Senior and Leopard Senior classes. With a strong field of 26 competitors in Rotax, Miinch drove his P1 prepared Rotax to two top five results as he came home second on Saturday and fourth on Sunday. Showing great speed throughout 2009 in his TaG program, Miinch and P1 Engines claimed two pole positions and a second place result in the Leopard Senior class. A final result on Sunday was not to be for Miinch as the first year senior driver had to make the long trek home to California for school on Monday morning.

"We have had a great start to the 2010 racing season with some strong results," expressed P1 Engines owner and engine builder Jesus Vasquez. "We are going to continue to develop all aspects of our engine program and ensure success on every platform. This season is a very exciting one for us and we are happy to have the success that we are having."

2010 will be a busy season for P1 Engines as plans to compete in all the major series are moving forward. P1 Engines will be seen at the front of the pack at Championship Karting International, WSK Florida Cup, Florida Winter Tour, International Karting Federation Region 7 and World Karting Association Manufacturer's Cup.
