Estasy Aiming for More Points

Adrian Estasy heads into the third round of the European Rotax MAX Karting Championship in Austria this weekend with the intention of a major points haul.

In both of the previous rounds, Estasy was pushed off the circuit in the opening lap before mounting excellent recovery drives. Despite the bad luck, the 22-year-old holds fourth in the championship.

"Considering what happened in Italy and Holland, fourth in the points is actually pretty good" Estasy said. "Hopefully Austria will be a little more productive and we can pick up some big points. We have shown we have the speed to win if we can just keep out of trouble."

The Austrian round is the largest of the championship so far, 55 drivers set to race qualifying heats to determine the elite 34 staters for the final.

One of the additional drivers is Melbourne's Matthew Wall who will be joining Estasy in the Arrow team for this round. DPE's Bart Price and Jon Targett will once again be attending.

Since the previous round in Holland, Estasy has based himself in England for the rest of the championship. This will allow him to compete in a selected number of high profile karting events in the UK such as the 'O'-plates and TV Masters. He will drive for the Walker Racing team, the UK importer for Arrow karts.

In addition to these races and his fitness training, Estasy attended a race meeting at Brand Hatch last month as a VIP guest, handing out the trophies to the place getters and assisting with the race commentary. He also competed in an endurance kart race for charity at the Rye House circuit. His team finished third and raised £2000 for leukaemia research.
