Blane Heimbach added another trophy to his growing collection with a Feature win in the Regular Micro Sprint Class at The Greenwood Valley Action Track, a milk extraction specialist from Selinsgrove, Heimbach thanked his family who take over the chores on the family farm while he goes racing. Heimbach also remembered to thank his crew and friends who help at the track. Finishing in second place was Eric Eckert from Bristol, while third was Joey Finan, Milton. Fourth was captured by Steve Lenig, Selinsgrove, fifth by Jeff Furlong, also of Selinsgrove, and sixth place went to Neil Petock, Bloomsburg. Another Selinsgrove resident, Joel VanBuskirk, took seventh position, with Frank Venezia, Little Ferry, NJ, Scott Kishbaugh, Nescopeck, and Eric Heydenreich claiming eighth through tenth.
In the Stock Engine Sportsman Micro Sprint class, the winner was Michael Ruttkamp, Wilton, CT who ran the whole night with a cast on his broken arm. Sore and tired after the race, Wilton remained in his car for the Victory Lane Interview before being helped back to the pits. Second place went to Dave Williams, third to Jay Horvath, Allentown, fourth to Dusty Jagger and fifth to Hoss Uhrin, Freeland. It was A.J. Bast in sixth place, new comer Kyle Rhoads, Sunbury, was seventh, Jeff Black was eighth, and the final car running was Jeff Schall.
The Rookie Micro Sprint victory was claimed by another first time winner, Jesse Remensnyder, Mocanaqua, whose mother joined him in Victory lane and commented that this was a truly great day in her life. Ray Peters, Shickshinny was second and Greg Spangler, Wapwallopen, was third, in fourth was Brayden Winters, Easton and in fifth place was Bob Puterbaugh, Millville. Sixth place went to Mike Niman, seventh to Jason Bargo, and rounding out the top ten were Sean Good, Deb Arner, and Matt Bower.
The Slingshot spec cars put on a great show on Saturday night at The Action Track with the winner being Dave Shirk, Fredericksburg, followed across the line by Paul Harig, Summit Station, and Whitney Heydenreich, Bloomsburg.
