Greenwood Valley results 2003-10-11

Colby Womer, Mt. Pleasant Mills, started the Blaize Alexander Memorial race for 270cc Micro Sprints on the outside pole and led the 50 lap Feature from start to checkered flag. Womer out ran Joel VanBuskirk, Selinsgrove, who hounded the leader from less than a car length behind while David Utt, Bloomsburg, maintained a third position just in front of Ross Perchak, Hazelton, in fourth. Chad Thomas, New Berlin, crossed the line in fifth spot while Denny Rinehimer, Bloomsburg, was sixth and Lee Benjamin, Berwick, was seventh. The final three in the top ten were Jason Rice, New Tripoli, Joe Bednarski, Plymouth and Ray Peters, Shickshinny.

The Sportsman 250cc Feature had few entrants to begin with and high attrition during the race so only two cars finished, Glen Clark, CT. and Dave Fulton, Pardeesville.

Bob Azarawicz won the Rookie Micro contest, his first at The Action Track, for this Tunkhannock native while Dave Mooers managed a second place finish and Luke Thomas in third. Tammy Schane was fourth, Chery Clark, fifth, and Robert Jones was sixth. John Gross came in seventh and finally across the line was Randy Meyers.

The Greenwood Valley Action Track was happy to present the Blaize Alexander Memorial Race as a tribute to a fine young racer who lost his life a couple of years ago doing what he loved to do, driving a race car. The owners of The Action Track, Gerry and Cindy Creveling, their family and friends at Greenwood Valley send our best wishes to the Blaize Alexander family.
