NTK round four summary

DENTON, TEXAS - North Texas Kartway held its Spring Series, Race 4 on Sunday, April 6. There was plenty of great racing on hand. The North Texas Karters/Kids Kart put on a heck of a show, considering they range in age from 5 to 8 years and can barely see over their steering wheels. The fact that these youngster know do standing starts is just amazing. They are competitive and put on a clean race every time. On Sunday, the race was heavily competitive between all 5 competitors. The kart #22 of Evan Brown was heavily pursued by kart # 9 of Alec Udell, kart #8 of T.J. Michael, kart #81 of Kristen Morgan, and kart #10 of Alex Tartaglia. For the first 5 laps in, Brown couldn't shake the field loose from his bumper. But by half way, Brown managed to break loose, and went on to take the win with Michael taking second, and Morgan grabbing third place.

In the Junior One Lite class sponsored by T&L Concession, it was nose to tail racing with the top positions battling hard early on. The top 5 positions of Gabriel Bargas #22, Devin Mauk #16, Connor Iseli #44, Clay Settles #81, and Casey Brown #82 bunched up from the start and stayed neck to neck for the first few laps. But Mauk and Bargas broke away from the pack early on, leaving Settles and Iseli in a grueling battle for third. In the end, it was Mauk who took the win with Bargas. Iseli, and Settles not far behind, finishing 2nd, 3rd and 4th, respectfully.

The Kart Connection/ CRC Racing 125 shifter race was all between kart #11 of Harry Baldaccini, kart #19 of Cort Harper, #5 kart of Eric Baldaccini and kart #8 of Tim Silence. From the very start, these karters were nose to nail and "trading paint" in some very close, competitive racing. They were swapping positions back and forth feverishly making the last few laps exciting and entertaining. Harry Baldaccini took first place, with Harper grabbing second, Eric Baldaccini taking third and Silence finishing a respectful fourth.

The KAM Karting Supply/Rotax Max karters put on one of the best shows of the day. The first three karts, Alan Fudge #14, Bob Schabel #92 and Dan Esparza #79 were quickly joined in the hunt by kart #21 of Justin Melton and kart #3 of Dana Dillard. There was bumper to bumper, nose to tail passing action on every lap of the race between these karters, each changing positions at least twice. On the last lap, the last pass was made by Melton for the lead and the win, with Schabel taking second, and Fudge taking third.
