ROCKY MOUNTAIN KARTWORKS SET FOR SKUSA PRO TOUR OPENER
GP Kart importer to tackle national series with opening round set for Sonoma, California

LOVELAND, CO (April 15, 2010) - Rocky Mountain Kartworks (RMKW) will officially begin their 2010 season at this weekend's Superkarts! USA North American Pro Tour in Sonoma, California. The Jim Russell International Karting Center, on the grounds of Infineon Raceway, will be the host location for the inaugural SKUSA SpringNationals and the Colorado based GP Kart importer is fielding a strong driver roster. Thanks in part to the joint venture of GP Kart dealers, including S.T.A. (Shawn Thomas Automotive) Racing, Crockett Motorsports and others, GP Kart will be well represented.

"I'm excited for the racing to get started this weekend," stated RMKW's AJ Noud. "With the winter behind us and tons of hours spent in preparation, our drivers aboard the GP Karts are primed to contend for victories and championships this season."

GP Kart will be well-represented in the headline S1 category (Pro Stock Moto) with a veteran lineup. Californian Jason Toft (STA) is a former ProKart Challenge North stock moto champion, contested at the Sonoma facility and brings a wealth of knowledge on the course. New Zealander Daniel Bray spent last season competing in the ProKart Challenge North program as well with great results. St. Louis' Derek Crockett (Crockett Motorsports) comes to Infineon with a number of Central State Challenge championships and familiar with the national level karting having shown well at Rock Island Grand Prix and the SKUSA SuperNationals in the past.

A couple of young guns will fly GP Kart colors in the Semi-Pro Stock Moto division (S2). Colorado's Christian Bird has a number of regional titles under his belt in the Junior ranks and now looks to continue that momentum into the Senior level. Lukas Johnson hails from Minnesota and is making the jump up to S2 from the S5 Junior Stock Moto class. Johnson won the hotly contested Central States Challenge program and earned a podium finish at the SKUSA SuperNationals XIII.

The S5 category could see the podium swept by GP Karts. Christian Schureman and Austin Schimmel come into the SKUSA SpringNationals with a good amount of experience piloting the restricted Stock Moto package and are sure to be among the front runners. Daniel Langin (STA) is the third GP Kart driver in the class as he will make his S5 debut this weekend. Representing GP Karts in the competitive TaG Junior division is Austin Thomas (STA). The NorCal driver currently sits fourth in the ProKart Challenge North series point standings for the class.

"The drivers we have assembled for this event is solid," continue Noud. "The support each driver will have throughout the weekend will be second to none and should show in the results they will post on Saturday and Sunday. My hope is to see GP Kart take a number of checkered flags and the entire team celebrating on the top of the podium."
