SEMO Speedway report 2002-07-13

BLODGETT, Mo. -- (July 13, 2002) "If you missed this show you really missed something." Those were the words of NASCAR's Mike Wallace as he described the racing action at the SEMO Motor Speedway Saturday night. The show featured the MARA Midgets, the RAMS Mini Stocks and the United States Outlaw Mini Sprint Association.

Donnie Lehman was the winner of the MARA Midget feature as he narrowly defeated the charge of Dave Camfield Jr. by .25 second. Tim Siner finished third with Steve Knepper fourth and Rich Camfield fifth. They were followed by Steve Aplin, Chad Branson, Kenny Brown, Jeff Gass and Kevin Crowner.

The RAMS Mini Stocks feature was doubly important as it not only was a RAMS Point Series night it was also the Second Annual Driver's Seat 25. For the second time in as many years at the SEMO Motor Speedway during the event the winner was Jathon Cruse of Farmington. Keith Buckley finished in second place with Carl Bellew third, Rick Ruch fourth and Shannon Burch fifth. They were followed by Rusty Voyles, Mike LaBrot, Mike Nickelson and Phil Hannah.

In the U.S. Outlaw Mini Sprint feature, Ryan Brewer of Salem, Indiana picked up the victory with Bob Franklin second, Danny Charles third, Rick Braley fourth and Shelby Franklin fifth. They were followed by Kevin Rupard, David Stanley, Jenifer Plaster, Barry Lamb, and David Burge. There was also an "A" class feature (600cc) race with Evan Lents of Calvert City, Kentucky picking up the victory, Korey Weyant second and David Dejournet third.

In the Restrictor class (600cc), Dylan Dejournet was the winner with Wayne Winters second and Jeffrey Asher third.
