SuperPro pole highlights SKUSA Supernats for G-Phactory

November 26, 2008 (Huntington Beach, Calif.) -- It was the biggest and best SKUSA Supernats to date, with one of the most talented fields in SuperPro history on hand to race at the temporary track in the parking lot of the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. With that level of competition, it was visiting G-Phactory driver Anthony Abbasse that drove a new 2009 Sodi Kart ST-32BV to pole position in SuperPro, ahead of some of the best pilots from North America and Europe.

Unfortunately for Abbasse, he and Tony Kart's Marco Ardigo made heavy contact while battling for the lead on the race's thirteenth lap, ending his bid for victory. Similarly, teammate Phil Giebler was assaulted from behind by Danilo Dirani in the early stages of the race, dropping him down the order. Giebler recovered to wheel his Sodi Kart back to twelfth.

Another highlight for the G-Phactory squad came in G1, where Howie Idelson wheeled his Sodi Kart BV8 to the podium after he contested the podium in one of the best races of the day. After running as high as second, Idelson finished fourth after starting in ninth. Teammate Fernando Diaz ran as high as eighth before he retired on the 20th lap, the victim of contact.

In the largest and arguably toughest field at the Supernats, TAG Senior, the team's drivers fought against what can only be described as a run of bad luck. Andrick Zeen fought through to finish 19th in the A main, while teammate Michael Self retired halfway through with a mechanical issue. Visiting driver Alexandre Humbert wheeled his Sodi Kart to sixth in the B-main.

Finishing up his rookie season, and his first Supernats, Bryce Miller did well to bring his kart home in 23rd in the S3 main. The victim of contact in all of his heat races, Miller kept his nose clean and brought his Sodi Kart home in one piece in the final race.

"It was extremely gratifying to see that we were able to put two of our karts at the front of SuperPro," said Giebler. "If our luck had been a little different, who knows how things may have turned out. This was definitely the best Supernats to date, and I'm extremely happy with how our team raced."

G-Phactory will now turn its focus to preparing for the 2009 season. The team will have several announcements to make with regards to its plans, which will be posted at the recently launched www.gphactory.com.
