1999's Shifter Kart Illustrated Team of the year is gearing up to reclaim the title. KLS had an up and down 2000 ProMoto season. With 3 SI driver changes in 2000, Kyle Rassuchine anchored the team down for the second half of the season. Kyle is back for 2001 and will run the Super Pro class with his new sidekick, Brett Buckwalter.

Kyle had an impressive 2000 season as he stepped into the SI class and after anchoring KLS SI program, worked closely with Danny Stewart to develop the new KLS Engine Program. Brett Buckwalter has also helped with the development of the 80cc Engine Program. KLS Racing Engine Program was debuted at the Las Vegas Super-Nationals and accumulated good results. The 125-cc package had a debut victory with Kirk Jeffery, in the GI class, and a strong 6th place finish with Kyle in S1. The 80cc package put Brett Buckwalter on pole for both, the Stars of Tomorrow and the SKUSA Super Nationals.

Also returning to the 2001 team will be Ricky Luther joined by Johnny Green. Ricky headed up the S2 squad in 2000 with solid results throughout the year. Johnny joined KLS Racing in the middle of 2000 with a chassis change. Both drivers are stepping up to the challenge of SI to represent KLS. Throughout the 2000 season, both drivers showed potential to be up front. With new packages beneath both of them, they are ready for upcoming season.

Along with a new Super Pro and SI line up, KLS Racings ProMoto Team will consist of KI driver, Steven Reasoner, and Jr. 80 drivers, Gary Carlton and Garrett Zine. With Brett moving up to the ranks of Super Pro, Steven Reasoner is assuming the role of the KI driver. He has been putting in the efforts both on and off the track to be a front runner. Look for Gary Carlton to be a force in the Jr. 80 ranks. Gary and his father George have been doing key research for KLS with a new chassis package and it has had promising results. And don't forget about Garett Zine who had the best race of his karting career in Las Vegas to finish in the 2nd spot at the Super Nationals.

Extreme Karting in Anaheim, CA has also signed a new heavy hitter to their squad, Tommy Contino. Tommy has been a front runner on the ProMoto Tour for two years in the S2 class and is stepping up to SuperPro to head Extreme's National Team. Look for KLS Racing and Extreme Karting to work jointly with the Contino's to help develop a strong national team for our Anaheim dealer.
