SKUSA: Team Aluminos Fontana preview

ALUMINOS READIES FOR SKUSA WINTERNATIONAL FINALE
Two new drivers added to an already solid line-up as team heads to Fontana

SAN RAMON, CA (March 6, 2008) -- The emerging Team Aluminos kart racing team will travel this weekend to CalSpeed Karting facility, located at the newly-named California Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, CA, for the final round of the SKUSA WinterNational Championship Series Seven drivers, including two new pilots to the team, will be flying the Aluminos colors in Saturday and Sunday's competition.

Canadian Scott Rossi will once again run with the team for the third round. In San Diego during the second stop of the schedule, Rossi delivered the squad with a pair of victories in the S1 class. The rookie Senior driver will continue to focus on honing his skills, preparing for the upcoming national schedule. Joining Rossi will be new Aluminos team member Marc Elliott. The young pilot comes over from the KLS Racing tent, bringing with him experience and knowledge aboard the GP kart. Rossi sits second in the S1 standings, while Elliot is fourth going into the weekend.

Aluminos' G1 program will be represented by Blair Chang and Kurt Brunner. Chang ran to a runner-up finish in Saturday's main event at Qualcomm, putting him third in the championship standings. Brunner will be returning after missing the second round.

In the S3 class, Brad Dunford will lead the team in this weekend's 'Stock Moto Winter Shootout' with two shifter rookies making the jump from TaG to Stock Honda - Harley Owen and new Aluminos team member Kyle Hathcox. Dunford will look to move up from his fourth spot in the standings by building on his top-five runs from round two. Owen and Hathcox will both be adjusting to the faster pace shifter kart, prepping for the upcoming Pro Kart Challenge opener.

Continuing to establish its position in the sport, Aluminos Inc. is a manufacturing and distribution company specializing in kart racing specific products, based out of San Ramon, CA. The nucleus of the company began as an asset purchase of a portion of Ron White's Mirage Motorsports by Aluminos' Rob Soares. A fixture in the US karting scene for the last five years, the former owner of GP kart importer KLS Racing has returned to the competition side of the sport, creating the Aluminos Trackside Support and Arrive & Drive programs while working with GP Karts and KLS Racing. Soares has put together a veteran support team, which includes veteran national frontrunner Tom Dyer, noted engine builder and tuner Vince Mandarino and mechanic George Tavares. As a well-respected driver and coach, Dyer also works with the team drivers on-track as well as in the trailer in deciphering the information they collect from their top-notch data acquisition equipment. Top-flight driver Lorenzo Mandarino will also be under the tent this weekend as a team tuner and driver coach.
