NEW CHALLENGES IN 2010
Championship Karting International announces the partnership with WSK Promotion and unveils the WSK North American Series.

This WKA-sanctioned Series will offer a six-event National Format throughout the 2010 Calendar Year.

Phoenix, AZ (October 20, 2009) -- Championship Karting International (CKI), America's premier national karting series, will be taking the sport to the next level in 2010 as part of an exciting new association with the European-based WSK Promotion. The CKI braintrust will be bringing the emerging program to America next season, beginning a relationship that will be further strengthened heading into the future. In an unprecedented decision to take a hands-on role in helping to develop the sport through a global initiative, CKI's leadership is continuing its forward-thinking support of US karting by elevating the national karting scene to a level never before witnessed on American soil. In 2010, the WSK North American Series will make its debut.

As part of this new partnership with the WSK, all of the events on the 2010 CKI schedule will be promoted and operated by Championship Karting International, sanctioned by the World Karting Association, under the WSK banner. The program will offer both international and domestic Categories in 2010, for the full schedule of Championship Events that will be announced in the near future.

"Our customers' demand for the challenge of international participation, paired with the American strength, in classes that offer something for everyone, has been a continual recommendation, and we wanted to respond with a positive program to blend both into a successful series of competition," states Series Director Kevin Williams. "Continual growth of the International categories in this country, along with support for the traditional American classes, drove us to bring in more competitive elements of our already successful program."

The WSK program, under the direction of Luca De Donno, has experienced great success in Europe through rich competition and karting support. With CKI's achievement of becoming the premier national karting program in America, the organization's founders felt that the association of the two would increase its program's appeal.

"Since the inception of CKI, many of our customers have asked us to expand our program to bring in more drivers, both from within the US and internationally, and this program allows us to do that. Over the past few years, WSK has enjoyed tremendous success and has evolved into the premier kart racing organization throughout the world. With our success with promoting national karting in this country, we are excited to bring added competition to our customers," states CKI co-founder Phil DeLaO. "We've enjoyed an incredibly successful inaugural season, and selecting WSK to further strengthen our position in the USA is testament to our commitment to making CKI a premier international series. We anticipate a long and expanding relationship with WSK and WKA in 2010 and beyond."

"I'd like to thank the World Karting Association for working with us to build the CKI program -- their partnership and assistance has been, and will continue to be, a critical component to our success," comments RJ Valentine, CKI co-founder. "We anticipate the affiliation with WSK will allow for more international drivers to compete in America and more opportunities for our American drivers to expand their racing globally."

"It is with pride that the staff of the WSK Promotion takes the opportunity to cooperate with a partner like CKI," Mr. De Donno said. "The organization of a series of major events such as Championship Karting International by meeting the target at the first attempt, constitutes the visiting card for a very winning team. That is the reason why, I am sure CKI is bound to go fast, on the same road to success our WSK International Series has found. It is no accident that we decided on the cooperation with CKI to carry out WSK World Series plan, ready to come to the USA, in 2010. We consider CKI as the perfect partner to start a long-date collaboration, and to realize and share new ideas to promote the development of racing karting sport."

Championship Karting International is a WKA-sanctioned Series, offering a six-event National Format throughout the 2010 Calendar Year, which is joined by a three-event CKI Florida Cup, January, February, and March. Plans are underway for the 2010 season with this new affiliation, and will be announced in the near future. For more information, visit www.championshipkartracing.com. CKI Press
