CHECKERED FLAG RACING AND DEVON SANDEEN VICTORIOUS IN TUCSON
"First double victory of the season"
Chilliwack, BC. -- April 27, 2006 -- British Columbia resident and Checkered Flag Racing pilot Devon Sandeen (First Kart / George Fellner Parilla) scored two victories this past weekend at the Stars of Karting presented by the Indy Racing league. Sandeen mastered the difficult P1 Kart Circuit in Tucson, AZ to score his first double victory in the '06 season.
With almost a perfect weekend scoring one pole position, two heat race and two final victories, the Checkered Flag Racing / FirstKart.com pilot takes over the Western and National points lead as he looks to secure the overall series title. Continuing to support Sandeen throughout the 2006 racing season will be Alarmtron, Bob Sinclair, Bosch Spark Plugs, Full Circle Disposals, Kodiak Motorsports Inc., Nicklom, Conlin & Company, On Track Promotions, Russell Karting Specialties, TRK Helicopters Ltd. and True North Motorsports.
Joining Sandeen in the Spec Racer class was CFR's Nicholas Fairney, Arly Irish and Billy Leninger who all came home with some very strong results. Fairney worked hard all weekend coming home with a podium position on Sunday to back up Saturday's 6th place result. Billy Leninger also had two top ten results with a 6th and a 10th while young Arly Irish came home in 13th and 17th.
Also competing with George Fellner power was Ontario, Canada's Eric Gerrits. The reigning Rotax Senior Canadian National Champion scored a 5th place result on Saturday and was taken out of contention while battling for a podium result on Sunday.
