Petropoulos in NAPA 500 Parade Lap
Atlanta, GA (November 13, 2001) - Peter Petropoulos will participate in the pre-race parade lap for the NAPA 500 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway on Sunday, November 18, 2001. Petropoulos will be featured in his #28 Race Against Drugs (RAD) Pro Late Model Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
RAD is a partnership in drug education by 23 American motor sports organizations, the National Child Safety Council, the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention. RAD captures the color and excitement of racing and the commitment by America's racing heroes to convey to youth that there is no such thing as "harmless" drug use.
Petropoulos is working on some possibilities for the upcoming 2002 season. A full season in ASA or USAR Hooters Pro Cup, with 2-3 races in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series are being considered at this time. He will also be returning to the Pro Late Model division at Lanier National Speedway where he ran a limited schedule in 2001.
Petropoulos is a two-time World Karting Association (WKA) National Champion.
