WKA Double Header National Weekend In The Carolinas
03.13.2008 - The WKA will play host to a double header weekend of National events in North and South Carolina this weekend, March 14 - 16, 2008.
The Dunlop Tire National Road Racing Series driven by Mazda competitors will pack it up and head to Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw, SC for stop #2 of the 8 race series and the Rage Karts Speedway Pavement Series competitors will kick off their 2008 season at the OCR Action Sports Park in Rougemont, NC.
The Road Racers will return to racing two months after their successful return to Daytona in December. Typical winter weather woes and the rising fuel prices may hamper some travels, but the competition will be exciting. Johnny Jacumin and Karolina Karters welcome the racers for this annual event and will cap off the weekend with an appreciation Bar-B-Q Saturday evening for the racers and their families.
The Rage Karts Speedway Pavement Series will get into high gear when they hit the fifth mile oval of OCR Action Sports Park. This being the first race of the season, spirits will be high as well as the on-track action and excitement.
Both events begin competitor load-in on Thursday followed by an event practice day on Friday and racing action both Saturday and Sunday.
