JORDAN JOHNSON ON ROAD TO FULL RECOVERY

WKA is pleased to announce that Jordan Johnson has been released from the hospital and is resting comfortably at home. In speaking with Jordan's Dad Tyrone, he wanted to extend his warmest appreciation to all the karting community that have supported Jordan in this critical time. Without question, the outpouring of concern by the karting family helped keep Jordan on the road to recovery. The belief is that Jordan will make a full recovery and be back battling his fellow competitors in the Manufacturer's Cup very soon.

ANNOUNCING THE NORTH AMERICAN DIRT TRACK CHAMPIONSHIPS

The North American Dirt Track Championships will return this year to Margarettsville Speedway in Margarettsville, NC. The date set for the event is October 24 - 26, 2003. All National Speedway Dirt Series classes will be offered with the exception of Star Champ and Stock 2-Cycle. We plan to run Briggs Sr. Champ in place of Star Champ and a second Briggs Jr. Sportsman Champ race on Saturday in place of the Stock 2-Cycle division. Prize money and awards will be offered in all classes, as well as, provisional starting spots for the 2003 Daytona Dirt World Championships in December.

The top two from each class will be guaranteed a starting spot at Daytona, and the 3rd provisional will be determined by blind draw for the 3rd - 15th place finishers. Contingency money will be offered by several karting companies to reward the drivers who support their products. We will update this list as things progress. Entry blanks and race information will be in the next issue of WKA's Karting Scene.

ON THE ROAD TO NEW HAMPSHIRE AND NEW YORK

The Dunlop Tire Road Racing Series makes their annual stop to New Hampshire International Speedway next weekend. This event kicks off the second half of what is turning out to be a highly competitive racing season. The New Hampshire course incorporates a challenging road course along with most of the Nascar oval.

The beautiful hills of Western New York play host to stop #3 of the Ultramax Racing Chassis Speedway Pavement Series. The quaint setting of Chapel Hill Raceway makes for some of the fiercest competition on this challenging 1/7 mile oval in Humphrey, New York.
