Lucas, a 26 year old from Madrid, is the first graduate of the Nissan/PlayStation Academy and has gone from ‘Lounge to Le Mans’ in just three years. Since leaving the virtual world of motorsport gaming in 2008 he has established himself as a rising star in real world of endurance racing, driving Nissan GT and prototype cars. Lucas is joining Greaves Motorsport, who are the 2011 Champions in the LM P2 class at both Le Mans and in the Le Mans Series.

Lucas commented on the news, “2011 was an incredible year for me, I learned a lot with Signatech Nissan. They believed in me and trusted me to get the job done. Nissan has set me my next challenge: an overall championship victory. With two top team-mates and a championship-winning team I am aiming to win the European Le Mans Series outright. The Le Mans 24 Hours will again be a big challenge for me and I’m very much looking forward to racing with Martin (Brundle) as I will learn a lot from him. With Martin, Alex and myself I think we will have one of the strongest line-ups in LM P2. It feels great to be able to say that!”

Greaves Motorsport Team Manager, Jacob Greaves, commented. “Greaves Motorsport is very pleased to have Lucas join us. We saw first hand last year how he was developing as a driver and it is great to have him in the car. We feel that our team and driver line up, combined with Nissan, Zytek and Dunlop, will give us a very competitive package for 2012 and we aim to repeat our success of 2011.”
