Hulkenberg keen on future LMP outings

Nico Hulkenberg is not thinking about future appearances for Porsche in the WEC this season but has admitted that he would like to race in sportscars again.

"After Le Mans I go home to relax for a few days and the team will have a little holiday," Hulkenberg told Motorsport.com.

"My programme this year is for Spa and Le Mans so anything after this we will discuss with Porsche but at the moment there is nothing but focus on this week here at Le Mans, so there is no news on any future plans yet.

"Of course I have enjoyed LMP1 with Porsche a lot and I am sure that this type of racing will be back in my career."

Craving dry running

Hulkenberg, who has only a few dry laps experience of Le Mans from the test day last month, thinks that the continuation of inclement weather at the track today will bring increased unpredictability to all the front runners in the race to come.

"At the moment it doesn't look like we will get the dry running we want in free practice," continued Hulkenberg.

"We know what is required but the poor weather will make things a little unpredictable. But if we spend the minimum amount of time away from the pits and get our consistency right in the tricky situations then we can have a nice outcome."

"This consistency and keeping cool even when the conditions are difficult are the big factors from a drivers' point of view."
