Le Mans grid set to be expanded in 2016
The Le Mans 24 Hours is set to expand its grid to 60 cars for 2017.

An additional four pit garages will be completed for the 2016 race, where 58 cars are to be granted entries.
The two surplus pit facilities next year will be given over to the ACO/FIA technical team. The construction of the garages is believed to be scheduled for completion by March 2016.
The ACO had initially planned to have 60 cars for 2016 but this has been modified to 58, including one for the Garage 56 technologically innovative invitational entry.
Next year will see quadruple amputee Frederic Sausset race in a specially adapted Morgan LMP2 chassis with an engine rumoured to be supplied by Audi. Sausset is receiving assistance on the project from former Le Mans racer Christophe Tinseau.
Sausset is set to demonstrate a Ligier CN car on the Le Mans circuit later today in between the two qualifying sessions.
This is the third Garage 56 entry to race at Le Mans after the Nissan DeltaWing and the electric Nissan ZEOD project from last year.
2017 will see the Welter Racing name return to Le Mans with a car run on biomethane waste recycling which will be housed in a cryogenic tank.
The ACO also announced today, at its annual press conference, that next year's event will take place over the weekend of 18/19 June, with the official test day being run on Sunday 5th June.
