Jonathan Summerton, American Racing Driver, has been chosen to go through to the Next Step of the 24hr Le Mans Race to 24 show. Here, over the next 12 weeks, starting March 26, team Sard-Morand will select a driver to compete with Christian Klein and Oliver Webb in the 24 hours of Le Mans.

24 hours of Le Mans is the ultimate race in the motorsport race. It is like superbowl of football, the world cup of soccer, the pentathlon of the Olympics. Le Mans is where teams practice and practice and practice again to ensure the car is ready in perfect balance.

The setup, like a fine watch, is tuned in every facet to give the driver his best opportunity, spares are ready to be changed as necessary, tires are matched into perfect sets; strategies are worked on with all the team of engineers, mechanics, technicians, tire changers down to the guy who gives everyone their energy drinks and water to ensure that they can win. Preparedness is the key!

The opportunity to work with Benoit to help the team win Le Mans is a dream come true.

After two successful years of highly competitive LMP2 with one overall win and a 3rd place Swiss Benoit Morand has joined with Japenese Sard racing who themselves have a highly regarded history in endurance racing over the past 20 years for their joint assault on 2015 24 hours of Le Mans. Shin Kato (Sard Racing Team founder): “Our best finish in the 24 Hours of Le Mans is second so you can easily guess our next target. As far as I know, the LMP2 class will be very competitive in 2015, notably because of a growing number of entries.”

The team also has the additional excitement of their Race to 24 Reality show series launches March 26, where they have chosen 24 drivers from over 100 established racing drivers from around the world to compete for what can only be described as the ULTIMATE DRIVE - A drive in the 24 hours of LeMans in the Sard Morand Le Mans Morgan car.

Jonathan Summerton is the perfect fit for this challenge. His experience over the past 10 years has prepared him. With a similar history to Christian Klien, one of the current drivers, Jonathan raced at Le Mans in his rookie year in F3 Euro series where racing with Vettal, Grosjean, De Resta and many other famous drivers drove to a magnificent 2nd place.

With F3 Euro he raced at the top tracks around Europe. Jonathan also raced around the world in A1GP as the only American driver to win a race, circuits like China, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and Brands Hatch in England. Jonathan also raced in the Champ Car Atlantic series and won the 12 hours of Sebring for BMW in the GTLM class.

Jonathan said, "The opportunity to work with Benoit to help the team win Le Mans is a dream come true. Life doesn’t get better than that! Life's journey has a purpose; all my racing is now coming to fruition. I know we can win this race. I am ready."

Benoit Morand: “Team Sard Morand is born to win races, it’s in our genes! The Morgan chassis received a new 2015 homologation. After discussions with our partner Onroak Automotive, it rapidly was obvious that thanks to the changes which can be made, the chassis will keep a very good level of competitiveness. We know the Morgan very well and it is the best option for Team Sard Morand in 2015.”
