Last year, the day before Le Mans 24 Hours Test Day, REBELLION Racing announced the development of the REBELLION R-One for the 2014 FIA World Endurance Championship.

Almost a year on from this announcement, two REBELLION R-One LMP1-L cars will hit the legendary Le Mans 24 Hours circuit for the official Test Day.

REBELLION Racing will start a new Le Mans 24 Hours chapter on Sunday after six years running Lolas in La Sarthe and they will be hoping that it will be a great continuation of what has already been a fantastic story for the Swiss team.

After a positive racing debut at the 6 Hours of Spa with a seventh place finish, the Swiss team completed a three day test at Le Castellet with both cars to continue the development programme and work on reliability.

Tomorrow's Le Mans 24 Hours Test Day will be the only opportunity to test on the unique Le Mans 24 Hours circuit, data that will be collected during the eight hours of allowed running will be the key to setup the cars during the race week.

The team’s six drivers will be on duty, Nicolas Prost, Nick Heidfeld and Mathias Beche in the R-One #12 and Andrea Belicchi, Dominik Kraihamer and Fabio Leimer in sister car #13. Two of them will have the privilege of driving the R-Ones for their first lap on the Le Mans 24 Hours circuit.

Bart Hayden – REBELLION Team Manager REBELLION: “ At REBELLION Racing we are really proud to have two LMP1-L cars ready to take part in the official test at Le Mans. A lot of effort has gone into this project so far and we know that there is still much to be done. It's exciting to be part of this new era of LMP1 regulations, the Privateers have a chance to be close to the factory cars. Le Mans is the showcase event of the year and the test gives us the chance to finalise our preparations, so we are looking forward to getting on the track and seeing how the new cars perform. ”
