SPEEDY RACING - TEAM SEBAH UNVEIL THEIR 2009 DRIVER LINE-UP

SPEEDY RACING - TEAM SEBAH have finalised their driver line-up for this year's Le Mans Series and Le Mans 24 Hours (if invited) for both LMP1 and LMP2 campaigns.

The LMP1 Lola Coupe B08/60 - Aston Martin, car number 13, will be driven by Italian driver Andrea Belicchi, sharing with Swiss driver Marcel Fassler and Frenchman Nicolas Prost.

Andrea Belicchi (born December 18th 1976) drove the team's Lola B08/80 - Judd LMP2 in 2008 and was previously with Speedy Racing in 2007 behind the wheel of the LM GT2 Spyker #94 in Le Mans Series and Le Mans 24 Hours. Andrea won two national Formula 3 titles in 2002 and 2003. He won 1000 km of Nurburgring in 2006 in GT2 class. He started Le Mans 24 in 2007 and 2008.

Marcel Fassler (born May 27th 1976) is former DTM Mercedes and Opel driver from 2000 to 2005. Since 2006 he has driven prototypes in Le Mans Series and Le Mans 24 Hours (SwissSpirit, Oreca, Audi) and GT cars in FIA-GT and GT Open (Phoenix-Carsport, Trottet Racing). Marcel started Le Mans 24 in 2006, 2007 and 2008.

Nicolas Prost (born August 18th 1981) won the Euro F3000 championship in 2008 after two seasons in the Spanish Formula 3 championship (3rd in 2007). From 2004 to 2005 he raced in the French Formula Renault championship. Nicolas finished 10th overall in Le Mans 24 Hours 2007 with Oreca's Saleen LMGT1.

The LMP2 Lola Coupe B08/80 - Judd, car number 33, will be driven by Frenchman Xavier Pompidou, Briton Jonny Kane and Swiss driver Benjamin Leuenberger.

Xavier Pompidou (born July 27th 1972) drove the team's LMP2 car in 2008. Xavier won the 2005 Le Mans Series drivers title and was runner up in 2007 in the GT2 category. He won two team's titles with Sebah Racing in 2004 and 2005, and finished second in 2007 for Felbermayr-Proton. Xavier has started Le Mans 24 Hours seven times and achieved 2nd place in LMP1 in 1998.

Jonny Kane (born May 14th 1973), was part of the Embassy Racing squad in 2008. He drove for Speedy Racing Team in 2007 aboard the LM GT2 Spyker #94 in Le Mans Series. Jonny won the British Formula 3 championship in 1997 and was test driver for Arrows in 2001. Since 2002, he has driven in Prototypes and GT cars (MG-Lola, Audi R8, TVR, Aston Martin, Spyker, Ferrari, Embassy). Jonny has started Le Mans 24 Hours 5 times.

Benjamin Leuenberger (born June 11th 1982) was a Speedy Racing Team driver in 2008 in Le mans Series and Le Mans 24 Hours in LM GT2 Spyker C8 Laviolette #94 with strong results at Monza and Spa events. Benjamin has a wide range of experience of prototypes in ALMS and Grand Am and GT cars in Europe in both Le Mans Series and the FIA-GT championship. Benjamin started Le Mans 24 Hours three times and achieved 8th place in LMP900 in 2004.

The LMP1 and LMP2 drivers will get their first opportunity to test their respective cars at Le Mans Series official test at Paul Ricard HTTT on 8th and 9th of March 2009.
