Kent, who won the Moto3 class in 2015, has endured a hectic year in 2017, which had started as his third full-time season in the intermediate category.

The Briton parted ways with his Moto2 team Kiefer Racing after only taking part in the first two races and withdrawing from the subsequent Austin event.

Kent then raced in Moto3 with Ajo KTM at Le Mans and finished 10th before joining Tom Luthi at CarXpert Interwetten for Mugello in Moto2.

He retired from that race and then showed up again in Moto3 at Sachsenring, where he also couldn't finish.

In this weekend's Red Bull Ring race, Kent is back in Moto2, this time with Intact GP.

Kent will join Speed Up, a Moto2 manufacturer, for both the 2018 and 2019 seasons.

The Italian team entered the category back in 2010, taking third overall with Andrea Iannone, and also enjoyed success with Sam Lowes in 2015, when the Briton placed fourth in the standings.
