Arenas was the first rider to test the new MGP3O at Jerez completing a total of 101 laps with a best time of 1m47.563s.
“I am happy with the test, I felt comfortable and competitive from the start," said the Spanish rider after the two-day test.
"I am already looking forward to the first race of next season but we have a long winter ahead to prepare well for the championship. We have worked on all areas of the bike and on my riding.
"We went fast and got good performance out of used rubber for the whole two days. We still have to fine tune several areas but the first impressions are very good. I want everything to start already."
Over the course of 2016 Moto3 season, the Spanish rider competed in 12 races (three with Aspar and nine with Peugeot), scoring two points. He also raced in the CEV Junior championship, where he finished eighth in the standings.
After Arenas, it was dalla Porta's turn earlier this week at Valencia, the Italian getting his first-ever taste of the Indian manufacturer's bike.
Dalla Porta completed a total of 105 laps in the two-day test with the aim to get some valuable experience on his new machinery, as well as the team, ahead of the new season.
"I felt really good with the bike and the team today," he said. "The Mahindra is very different to anything I have ridden before but it has huge potential.
"It was a very interesting test and there have been some very positive things over the two days. Also the first day was dry and the second day was wet. I am satisfied."
The Italian came to the test fresh from winning the 2016 CEV Junior title abode a Husqvarna. Dalla Porta also competed in the 2016 Moto3 season for nine races with three different teams, scoring 12 points.
