Suzuki rider Espargaro confirmed in Barcelona that he has been in talks with Aprilia, among other teams, about a ride for next season, the Spaniard seemingly resigned to having lost his current seat.
The Italian manufacturer has already confirmed Moto2 rider Sam Lowes in its 2017 line-up, leaving only one seat open.
Suzuki is the only other factory team that has not confirmed both its riders for next season, following KTM's signing of Aleix's brother Pol.
Quizzed on his future in Barcelona, former Moto2 champion Bradl said Aprilia has an option on his services, and that his fate is solely in the team's hands.
"A lot is being discussed at the moment, but nothing has been decided yet," said the German. "I don’t know what goes on behind the scenes and this is not something I can influence anyway.
"There aren’t too many options left. My priority is to stay here, and they have an option on me for next year. It’s their decision, basically they have to right the look for other riders. Time will tell.
"Aleix is fed up with Suzuki, but we know he’s a strange character who can be a bit fiery, so I’m not too worried. We will see."
Asked by Motorsport.com if the Espargaro speculation had made him consider his options outside MotoGP, Bradl replied: "It’s just rumours, but if it gets more concrete I’ll have a look."
Aprilia has indicated it is aiming to finalise its 2017 rider line-up before the next round of the season at Assen.
