Ducati aims to avoid another up-and-down season

Last year, the team's two riders Andrea Iannone and Andrea Dovizioso scored eight podiums on their way to fifth and seventh respectively in the standings.

However, six of those podiums came in the first six races of the season, and the team struggled to maintain the same form for the rest of the campaign.

"[The goal for the year is] to keep the same level of competitiveness all season, and to avoid the peaks and troughs of 2015," Dall'Igna told selected media, including Motorsport.com.

"We must find consistency. We want to continue to fight for the top positions and try to score some wins for the fans, the brand and the sponsors. We must do everything to get there."

The 2016-spec Ducati Desmosedici was launched last week, and has already completed three official pre-season tests.

Dall'Igna said bringing an evolution of the team's existing design had made for a more "relaxed" pre-season than 12 months ago, when the team introduced an all-new bike.

“The Desmosedici GP is an evolution of the bike we used last year," the Italian explained. "It has made everyone at Ducati calmer, because last year we began the championship with a completely new bike, with which we had done few kilometres in testing."

"We were optimistic, while having doubts about its performance and reliability. This year, we start more relaxed.

He added: “We must work on set-up, but we will bring for the next test some updates which, I’m convinced, will allow us to address the deficiencies we identified at Phillip Island."
