Stoner storms to victory at the 2009 Shell Advance Malaysian MotoGP Ducati Team rider dominates Sepang race, protected all the way by Shell Advance

Casey Stoner took to the top step of the podium for the second consecutive race at a wet Shell Advance Malaysian MotoGP. Following on from last weekend's Australian victory, Stoner broke away from the pack early on in the race and never looked back, eventually finishing with a huge 14 second lead over nearest rival Dani Pedrosa.

At one of the most anticipated races of the 2009 season, Shell was proud to witness another win for technical partner, Ducati Corse. The 2009 Malaysian MotoGP race sponsored by Shell Advance saw the riders' title eventually decided and Valentino Rossi crowned MotoGP World Champion. The race weekend was attended by over 102,000 fans, including 850 Shell grandstand guests.

Casey Stoner commented after the race, "After winning in Australia last weekend, I'm really happy to have won again today, especially because it's an important race for Shell as the race sponsor. We can't ask for anything more after the season we have had. These last three races back have been close enough to perfect. Now I'm really looking forward to going to Valencia as it is a track which I have enjoyed for the past few years and I want to give a big thanks to my team, everyone who has supported me and the doctors who helped me out. It has been very nice to come back and get results like this."

Tanmay Jaswal, Global Marketing Manager for Shell Advance commented, "The result couldn't have been better for Shell Advance today. To see Casey Stoner win so convincingly on the Shell Advance protected Ducati GP9 bike was a fitting end to a great weekend of title sponsorship activities for us."

Shell provides Ducati Corse with cutting edge lubricants and fuels for MotoGP competition, and continuously transfers learnings from the racetrack to the road-going version of Shell Advance for its consumers worldwide. The racing version of Shell Advance helped Ducati Corse to its first ever triple World Championship crown in 2007, and is now vital in protecting the Ducati GP9 machines through MotoGP regulations allowing each rider to use only five engines for the final seven races of the 2009 season. Shell's increased investment in MotoGP through the Malaysian MotoGP sponsorship aimed to heighten exposure to its Shell Advance premium lubricant products in the key Asian region.
