Pedrosa: "Destroyed" front tyre made Misano repeat impossible

Dani Pedrosa says he has no regrets about his performance in the Aragon Grand Prix, as a "destroyed" front tyre made it impossible for him to fight through the pack like at Misano.

Pedrosa won the San Marino Grand Prix from eighth on the grid, but could only advance one spot from seventh at Aragon, as Repsol Honda teammate Marc Marquez stormed to victory.

Having been regarded by some as the rider most likely to challenge Marquez at Aragon, Pedrosa says his race was undone by tyre problems.

"No feeling on the tyres, in the rear and the front, from the beginning," Pedrosa said. "I had issues, no grip [at the] rear, no grip [at the] front.

"In the middle of the race, the front was destroyed. Something went wrong in the tyre, I had so much vibration, which meant there was some problem.

"I tried to keep the rhythm, but it was so difficult to race without grip, rear or front. Sometimes if you have one bad feeling, you can do braking or you can do exit - but [both] front or rear was no good today.

"The track was maybe not great today on grip... I don't know exactly what was the issue, but obviously was a very bad feeling to race like this, after the last weekend."

Pedrosa insisted that he could not have done better than sixth.

"I had to arrive to the end of the race like I could," he added. "I couldn't do any better with the conditions I had in the race. It's difficult to manage.

"You can take a rhythm, you can take a lot of judgements of the way you choose to go on the bike, on the setting, on the way of work, because it depends a lot on other things that many times we cannot control. It's not under our control.

"It's a bit disappointing to have this kind of different feelings. I would be my own critic, as usual, for me to do something better next race, but today I have nothing I can regret from myself."
