Rossi will not jump to F1

Reigning MotoGP World Champion, Valentino Rossi, stated today that he will continue racing in bikes for the moment. "I will continue, at least for some time more, to race motorbikes," the 27-year-old seven time world champion told the Italian news agency ANSA.

Rossi is facing some hard times with his Yamaha M1 in MotoGP as he appears eighth in the standgins after two DNF in latest events of China and France.

The seven times World Champion made a lot of tests with a Formula One Ferrari in the past months and sounded as possible teammate for Michael Schumacher in 2007.

"My friends at Ferrari gave me the chance to do some car testing. That was a fantastic experience both technically and personally but I think that my work on the motorbike is not finished and I'm still very motivated", Valentino secured.

Surely, to keep his World Champion conditions this season seemes to be an interesting challenge for Rossi, different to past years in which the Italian won the titles as he wanted.

Schumacher said he was disappointed to hear Rossi would not be joining him at Ferrari. "In a way we are sad not to see him here, but on the other side it is understandable because he knows what he has in his world," the German said in Monaco while preparing for Sunday's Formula One Grand Prix.

With Rossi`s announcement, there is still open Ferrari`s seat for 2007 as the motor racing world waits for Schumacher`s decision about his future in the sport.
