Suzuki launches its 2017 MotoGP bike

Ahead of the start of pre-season testing at the Malaysian track on Monday, Suzuki launched the bike that new signings Andrea Iannone and Alex Rins will be riding this year.

The new GSX-RR features a slightly revised livery, with more pronounced yellow highlights on a predominantly light blue base.

Suzuki goes into 2017 with an all-new rider line-up, as Ducati convert Iannone and Moto2 graduate Rins replace Maverick Vinales and Aleix Espargaro, who have moved on to Yamaha and Aprilia respectively.

Vinales' won Suzuki's first race since 2007 last year at Silverstone, as well as the marque's first in fully dry conditions since 2000.

"We have a lot of pressure because Suzuki has a lot of history, great riders, great achievements," said team boss Davide Brivio.

"With this project we try to renew this and bring this back.

"It's a good motivation for everybody to try to continue this tradition and bring back Suzuki to the top.

"What we have done so far is quite surprising. Everything was new two years ago, and managing to win a race last year was amazing.

"We are excited to improve as much as we can. It's good that we won, but this has to be just the starting point."

Iannone finished fourth in the post-race Valencia test last November, and took part in the first day of the Jerez test later in the month.

Rins meanwhile has only had one full day of running on the Suzuki so far after he injured his back at Valencia, but the Spaniard has since made a full recovery.

Test rider Takuya Tsuda has been performing further development work on the GSX-RR this week at Sepang ahead of Monday, when Iannone and Rins will take over testing duties.
