STECKLY JUST KEEPS ON WINNING
Three of last four wins in NASCAR Canadian Tire Series go to 22 Racing's Scott Steckly

BARRIE, ON: Monday June 30, 2008: Saturday night at Barrie Speedway, event three of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, was typical short track racing. A lot of fender banging, tire rubbing and even a few short tempers. The 22 Racing Team of Scott Steckly would have none of that though as they raced their way to victory three in the last four outings, going back to the season ending event at Kawartha last year.

Steckly driving the No. 22 Erb Group/Tow Truck in a Box/Reefer Sales Dodge Avenger wound up eighth quickest on the charts after practice for the A & W 300. Don Thomson Jr. would set a new track record in time trials with a lap of 13.903 with Steckly narrowly missing that mark resulting in an outside front row start.

Due to rain early in the day, the schedule got shortened up and rather than an 8:05 p.m. start the green flag waved for the A & W 300 around 7:30 p.m. Steckly jumped out to a lap one lead, a lead he would hold for the first 41 circuits. The 22 Avenger went to the front again for the final time on lap 264 and cruised to victory. Overall Steckly in the Erb Group Dodge led 6 times for a total of 133 laps -- the most by any participant in the event giving them an additional five point bonus on the night. "The car was just great again tonight," stated a smiling Steckly after the race. "The car would do everything I wanted it to and more," he added. "I have to thank my crew as they have been giving me these great cars to drive every week. I also want to thank Erb Group for their added sponsorship tonight." Erb Group used their "Drivers Wanted call 800-665-2653" logo on the hood & quarters for the Barrie event.

Steckly's dominant run again tonight gives the 22 Racing Team three wins and one pole in the last four events and a lot of momentum going to St. Eustache for event four next weekend. Steckly also increased his points lead in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series standings over now second place Don Thomson Jr. to 63 points.

Other podium finishers included second No. 4 Don Thomson Jr. and third No. 17 D. J. Kennington.

Broadcast of the A & W 300 from Barrie is slated for Sunday July 6th at 2:30 p.m. ET on TSN.

Next up is the re-scheduled due to rain Kodak 250 at Autodrome St. Eustache on Saturday July 5th. Time trials are set for 5:15, with the autograph session at 7:15 and the green flag at 8:35 p.m. For more information please visit www.autodrome-st-eustache.com
