SIMONE EXCELLENT IN EDMONTON

EDMONTON, AB, Sunday July 25, 2010: Anthony Simone driver of the No. 95 Simone Autosport/FX100/Graphix Factory Monte Carlo posted the seventh quickest time in practice and topped that in qualifying achieving a third place starting position. The race results were even better for Simone as he finished the Canadian Tire 100 in second place.

Simone was fast in both practice sessions on Friday and Saturday and at the end of the two-day practice session was scored with the seventh quickest time. In Qualifying Simone navigated the 14 turn temporary road course with a time IMG_4705-1.jpg of 1:21.044 and an average speed of 87.6 mph which would put the No. 95 team in third to start the race.

Simone started the race on the inside of row two and as the green flag waved on Sunday afternoon for the 100km Canadian Tire event presented by Konica Minolta, Simone was immediately looking to improve his track position. On lap five, the driver of the No.95 Autosport/FX100/Graphix Factory Monte Carlo did just that passing the No.02 Kerry Micks for second place.

For the next 25 laps Simone was able to maintain his position and crossed the finish line in second place.

After the race Simone indicated that his strategy was to "save the brakes and the car until the final ten laps and make a run at the No. 84 J. R. Fitzpatrick for the lead." However, there was a caution with 10 laps to go and "that didn't help us, with cold tires I had nothing for the No.84" Simone added.

The No.95 team did an outstanding job preparing the car for Sundays race and Simone would like to thank RX100 and the team for a job well done.

Finish 1. J. R Fitzpatrick 2. Anthony Simone 3. Scott Steckly

The Canadian Tire 100 will be aired on TSN on Sunday Aug. 1st at 11 a.m. EST.

The team had a great start to the three race western swing and hopes to maintain it as the next event for the No.95 FX100/Graphix Factory Chevrolet will be at Motoplex Speedway in Vernon, BC for the Cruisin the Dub 300 presented by A & W.
