DICKIES 200 HEADLINES ACTION-PACKED MOSPORT HIGH OCTANE WEEKEND

(BOWMANVILLE, ON - June 5, 2009) The Mosport High Octane Weekend, June 12-14, headlined by the Dickies 200 for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, features a wide variety of racing from thundering stock cars to performance sedans and open-wheel racers that will cater to just about every racing fan's taste.

The NASCAR Series cars will be joined by the Ford Racing Mustang Challenge, F2000 Championship, Castrol Canadian Touring Car Series and the Ontario Formula Ford Championship on Mosport's famed 4-kilometre, 10-turn road course.

Last year's Dickies 200 produced a thrilling finish when Cambridge, Ontario's J.R. Fitzpatrick passed both D.J Kennington of St. Thomas, Ontario and teammate Don Thomson, Jr. of Ayr, Ontario on the last lap of a wet Mosport track. On his way to victory Fitzpatrick also managed to overcome late-race contact with Alex Tagliani of Montreal, Quebec and some difficulties in the pits while switching to rain tires. Kennington and Thomson return to Mosport along with a strong field of drivers, including defending champion Scott Steckly of Milverton, Ontario, 2007 Dickies 200 and series champion Andrew Ranger of Roxton Pond, Quebec and Dave Whitlock of Wyoming, Ontario, winner of the 2009 season opener at the St. Eustache Autodrome.

Mosport is the only Canadian stop for the Mustang Challenge, a series featuring a grid of identical, race-modified Ford Mustang FR500S cars. The Series made its Canadian debut at Mosport last season in an exciting race that saw pole-sitter Andrew Caddell of Graham, Washington take the win.

Heading into the Mosport round, Caddell leads the 2009 points standings, but in order to become a repeat winner, he'll have to overcome a field that includes Laguna Seca winner Ted Anthony, Jr. of Kirkland, Washington, last year's Mosport runner-up Pratt Cole of Salt Lake City, Utah and Grand-Am winner Karl Thomson of Toronto, Ontario.

Moving up from its late-August date last season is the U.S.-based F2000 Championship. This open-wheel development series features large grids of Ford-powered racers driven by up-and-coming talent from across

North America. Among these future stars are two Canadians, including current points leader Remy Audette of St-Anne-des-Lacs, Quebec, who has won two of the first four races this season, including the Series' last race at LimeRockPark. Series rookie Caitlin Johnston of Orangeville, Ontario is also enjoying a strong season and is currently sixth in points, on the strength of three top ten finishes through the first four races.

The Castrol Canadian Touring Championship presented by Toyo Tires also returns to the road course for its second of three 2009 appearances, and the open-wheel racers of Ontario Formula Ford Championship returns with two points races to round out the weekend schedule.

A three-day SuperTicket is $50 until June 10 ($60 at the Gate) and each ticket includes parking, paddock admission, and entrance to the Saturday Night Stock Car racing at Mosport Speedway. Children 12 and under are free when accompanied by a paid adult admission. Single day tickets are also available.

General and family camping areas are available, with full-service washrooms, showers and children's playgrounds. An advanced three-day weekend general camping pass is just $30 for tents and pop-up trailers and RVs are $50 for the weekend.

Also available for the Mosport High Octane weekend is the Grand Prix Club, which for $90 gives fans a real VIP experience. Located near corner one overlooking the front straight, the Grand Prix Club includes a three-day admission and Sunday VIP Hospitality which features a fully catered lunch and beverages.
