Teams finish fourth and tenth in CASCAR 100

MONTREAL, QC (August 26, 2006) -- The CASCAR 100 provided mixed results for Team Fastline in Saturday afternoon's 23-lap event on the legendary 13-turn, 4.359 km Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve road course during the Champ Car World Series event weekend.

Team driver Jim Lapcevich of Hamilton, Ontario took fourth spot after starting ninth in the 24-car field, while brother Jeff Lapcevich, who qualified sixth, placed tenth in the race.

"It was good day and I'm pleased with my finish," said Jim Lapcevich. "Whit (Dave Whitlock), Kenny Habul and I dueled it out pretty good at one point in the race and I had some fun racing with J.R. (Fitzpatrick)," he added. "The EMCEA Transport / Tim Hortons Chevy was running well and the 25 team worked hard all weekend. Next weekend is Cayuga in front of our hometown fans and sponsors, and a good finish there is important."

"I've had better days, but all in all we did pretty well considering we broke a transmission," explained Jeff Lapcevich, of Caistor Center, Ontario. "A fully-functional transmission on a road course is mandatory, and I was stuck in fourth gear in the Tim Hortons / EMCEA Transport / Carhartt Chevrolet Monte Carlo at the end and couldn't make up any ground."

Kerry Micks won the CASCAR 100 followed closely Robin Buck in second and Scott Steckly in third.

The next event for Team Fastline will be round nine of the 12-event CASCAR Super Series at Cayuga International featuring the "Hot Head Henry 200", September 2-3 in Nelles Corners, Ontario.
