YOU HAVE A NEW PAINT SCHEME FOR THIS WEEKENDS RACE, TELL US ABOUT IT? "We have a commemorative paint scheme on the race car this weekend to announce Miller's 'Gold Taste Protector Lid' and it's going to be out on store shelves Memorial Day weekend. It's a big kick-off for Miller Lite and their summer program. We're happy on the NASCAR side to introduce everybody to the taste protector lid; it's a gold lid that locks in the fresh taste of Miller Lite. It's something that's fun for us because using the NASCAR side of things to help promote a program is always fun and exciting. We hope that it brings us some good luck. We have the car with a special paint scheme. In years past, I've always thought of the all-star race as a fun race to race as well as to see what special paint schemes come about. It's great to carry on that tradition as we'll have some fun with the Miller Lite Dodge. The 'Blue Deuce' is trimmed up with more gold this weekend like we've seen it a couple times in the past when I've driven it. A little bit of fun there."

DID YOU HAVE AN ENGINE PROBLEM IN PRACTICE TODAY? "Yeah, the fuel light came on and the car acted as if it was out of fuel. I was going to pull in, and then it cleared itself out. It was a long enough (practice) session where it felt like I was out of fuel, and then it cleared itself out. I'm confused by it a little. I haven't been told that there was an (engine) issue or if it was resolved or whether it was a hiccup in the fuel line. With the new motors, everyone is running this cable-drive fuel pump and you have to make sure that you get everything right. As far as I know, we're going to be alright."

WILL YOU BE MAKING AN ENGINE CHANGE? "No. It was just an air bubble in the line that lasted a little longer than normal."

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MEMORY OF BOTH THE ALL-STAR RACE AND THE COCA-COLA 600? "I look back at the first night race during the all-star race with Kyle Petty and Davey Allison coming to the (finish) line and both wrecked. Davey had a great race car and I think he actually hurt himself in the wreck as well, so it carried over into the 600 week. It was a week of questions of whether or not Davey was OK - to see those two drivers put on such a great show-first time under the lights - that's what really I remember the most about that first all-star race.

"For the 600, there are so many memories that come up. Casey Mears getting his first win. Then you rewind to the years of Yarborough and Petty and Jeff Gordon, I think he won his first race in the 600. That one stands out in my mind because it was one of the most unique ways to win your first race at a 600. Matt Kenseth won his first-ever race here at the Coca-Cola 600. It's a long grueling race with a marathon-type atmosphere and you come off a week of the Sprint All-Star race where you hold nothing back and go for broke. It's definitely a cool two weeks in Charlotte."
