Notes: This is the second conseutive race Goodyear will bring this particular combination of left- and right-side tires to California . . . both the NASCAR Nextel Cup and Busch Series will compete on the same tire codes this weekend . . . this is the seventh of 10 races at which Nextel Cup teams will use this tire set-up in 2004 . . . in addition to California, this combination will be run by Nextel Cup, Busch and Truck Series teams at Charlotte, Dover, Michigan, Chicago, Kansas and Kentucky this season . . . as on all NASCAR ovals greater than one mile in length, teams are required to run inner liners in all four tire positions at California . . . the air pressure in the inner liners must be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire.
Goodyear Quote -- Mark Keto, Lead Engineer, Stock Car Racing: "This is the most popular tire set-up Goodyear will bring to the track in 2004. With teams having run these codes six times already this season, including at Fontana in May, they should have plenty of good notes to work from, and know what to expect from these tires."
