Notes: Both NASCAR series will compete on the same tires this week at Charlotte . . Winston Cup and Busch Series teams have used this same combination of tires several times already this season - at Charlotte in May, at Kentucky in June (Busch Series only) and at Kansas last weekend . . . teams have also run this left-side code (D-6352) with a different right-side code at California (D-6354), Chicago (D-6356), Michigan (D-6354) and Texas (D-6364) . . . in addition, this right-side (D-6372) has been run with a different left-side at Dover (D-6370) . . . as on all NASCAR ovals greater than one mile in length, teams are required to run inner liners in all four tire positions at Charlotte . . . the air pressure in the inner liners must be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire.

Quote - Ryan Newman, driver No. 12 Alltel Dodge and winner on this tire combination last weekend at Kansas: "Charlotte's just a great track to race on when you're looking to maintain good tire wear and still gain track position. At Charlotte, you're spending the majority of your time racing or chasing the race track as we call it because its temperature-sensitive and the conditions seem to always be changing. Goodyear's bringing back the same tire we had last weekend at Kansas, which shouldn't be a problem. I was wearing out my right rear a bit at the beginning because I was back in traffic and really trying to get to the front, but once I got in clean air, we didn't have any problems. The consistent tire wear at Charlotte will play a key role in the fuel mileage game."
