MIAMI, FL (September 11, 2001) - Homestead-Miami Speedway will host next season's NASCAR Winston Cup and Busch Series finales, November 15-17, 2002, Speedway President Curtis Gray announced.

"We're proud to be the site of NASCAR's Championship Weekend in 2002," said Gray. "To host the final race of the year for both the NASCAR Winston Cup and Busch Series is a great honor. It promises to be one of the most action-packed weekends in all of motorsports. November in Miami is an ideal setting to conclude the NASCAR Winston Cup and Busch seasons."

The NASCAR Winston Cup season-finale will be held at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Sunday, November 17, 2002. The NASCAR Busch Series season-finale will take place on Saturday, November, 16, 2002. Practice and qualifying for both races is set for Friday, November 15, 2002.

It will mark the first time since 1993 that both the Winston Cup and Busch Series will end their seasons at the same track, and the first time since 1986 that the Winston Cup season-finale will be hosted by a track other than Atlanta. With the Winston Cup finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway, it will mark the first time in the 54-year history of NASCAR's premier series that the schedule will end in the state of Florida.

2002 will mark the first year that Homestead-Miami Speedway has served as the site of the NASCAR Winston Cup season-finale, having hosted the penultimate race of the schedule each year since 1999. Homestead-Miami Speedway has served as the host of the Busch Series season-finale since the Speedway opened in 1995.

Ticketholders to this year's Pennzoil 400 weekend will be eligible to secure tickets in advance of the 2002 NASCAR Championship Weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Tickets for the general public will go on sale at a later date to be announced.

Remaining tickets for this year's Pennzoil 400 weekend, November 9-11, can be purchased by phone at (305) 230-RACE, online at www.homesteadmiamispeedway.com or at Ticketmaster.
