JR Motorsports Hires Director of Communications

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (February 12, 2007) -- Mike Davis will join the JR Motorsports team as Director of Communications effective February 19. In addition to overseeing the company-wide media requests and public relations efforts, Davis will handle scheduling for team owner and Nextel Cup Series driver Dale Earnhardt Jr., as well as communications for the organization's NASCAR Busch Series, USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series and late model stock car programs.

Prior to joining JR Motorsports, Davis spent three years at fingerprint, inc. managing the publicity demands for the Budweiser Racing program in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series. Jade Gurss of fingerprint, inc. will continue to direct the media relations effort for the Budweiser No. 8 team.

Davis, a Birmingham, Ala., native, graduated from Georgia Southern University in 2001 and made his first foray into the auto racing world in 2002 when he was hired by The Motorsports Decisions Group in Charlotte, N.C.

"With the growth and opportunity that we are experiencing at JR Motorsports, it was necessary to put a team in place to help streamline and guide our communications message," said JR Motorsports General Manager, Kelley Earnhardt Elledge. "Through his experience over the past few years in working with Dale Jr. and the media, we felt he was the best person to fill this role. His experience and creative vision will help guide JR Motorsports as we continue to grow."

"The rapid growth of JR Motorsports in the past three years is nothing short of a success story, and it is a tribute to Dale Jr.'s vision as a team owner and the people he has put in place to make it a reality," Davis said. "I am honored to join the JRM team and help promote a brand that represents dedicated employees, tremendous sponsorship partners, and an unwavering fan base. Most importantly, I look forward to continued work with the media, as Dale Jr. and JRM will be the source of many great stories in 2007 and beyond."

Annette Randall, public relations specialist at JR Motorsports, will report to Davis.
