Notes: This is the same combination of left- and right-side tires Goodyear has brought to Michigan since June 2001, making this the sixth straight race at this track for this set-up . . . this specific tire combination was also run by Winston Cup and Busch Series teams at Michigan's sister track - California - earlier this season . . . in Goodyear's 2003 tire line, this left-side code (D-6352) is paired up with a different right-side at Texas (D-6364), Charlotte (D-6372), Chicago (D-6356) and Kansas (D-6372) . . . as on all NASCAR ovals greater than one mile in length, teams are required to run inner liners in all four tire positions at Michigan . . . the air pressure in the inner liners must be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire.

Goodyear Quote -- Mark Keto, Lead Engineer, Stock Car Tire Development: "A lot of Winston Cup races have been coming down to fuel mileage lately, and Michigan is traditionally one of those tracks where that will be a major factor. Having said that, at MIS this weekend, tires will only be a factor when it comes to talking about pit strategy. Teams have a good book of notes built up on this tire set-up, so they will feel comfortable mixing in two-tire stops, or maybe just coming in for a splash-and-go late in the race to gain track position."
