MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Sept. 29, 1998) NASCAR Winston Cup Series driver Joe Nemechek will be sporting a new design on Team SABCO's No. 42 Chevrolet during this weekend's UAW-GM Quality 500 activities at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.

In support of BellSouth's entrance into the paging market, Nemechek's Chevrolet will feature a new paint scheme highlighting the "BellSouth Paging" theme. Initially, the new service will be available to BellSouth Mobility customers in the Southeast. Plans are to extend the paging offer to other BellSouth wireless customers and local telephone customers in the coming months.

"Our goal is to provide BellSouth customers with a complete wireless package, which includes cellular, paging and two-way advanced messaging services," said John Jenkins, Director of BellSouth Cellular Corp.'s Paging Division. "Many of our customers are loyal NASCAR fans and what better way to showcase our new venture than with the BellSouth NASCAR Winston Cup car and Joe Nemechek."

Also on the calendar this week for the BellSouth driver -- on Thursday evening following on-track activities at Charlotte Motor Speedway -- is the second annual Joe Nemechek Fan Club Get-Together at NEMCO Motorsports' Mooresville facility. Fans wishing to join the club may sign-up at the invitation-only party, which will offer dinner, BellSouth Racing goodie bags and giveaways.

Nemechek will be on-hand, as will members of his NASCAR Busch Series team, which will race in Saturday's All Pro Bumper to Bumper 300 and his NASCAR Winston Cup teams, for photos and autographs.

"Last year's fan club get-together was such a huge success that we thought we'd do it again," Nemechek said. "With all the Nemecheks and everyone from BellSouth, it's going to be a real family affair. We're planning a night where we can give something back to the dedicated fans who support us throughout the year. We rarely get a chance to do things like this, given our schedules.

"Charlotte is like racing in a 'mini-Daytona 500.' You've got two big races for each division, not to mention appearances and media interviews. It really is a hectic week, but at least we get to be at home."
