Charlotte: Pontiac Racing race quotes

STACY COMPTON, NO. 14 CONSECO PONTIAC GRAND PRIX: WHAT PUT YOU OUT OF THE RACE? "It looks like we broke something in the transmission, but we're not really sure what it is. I hate it. We had a decent run going, but we've just got to finish races.

WHAT PUT YOU OUT OF THE RACE? "It looks like we broke something in the transmission, but we're not really sure what it is. I hate it. We had a decent run going, but we've just got to finish races. We just can't seem to do that here lately. The guys are doing a great job. They've been building good race cars. We just need to finish races."

KEN SCHRADER, NO. 36 PEDIGREE PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:

"We were just out of control tonight. We just never got our hands around it. We caught up with it a couple times, but then we'd lose it again. I don't know."

GREG ZIPADELLI, CREW CHIEF, NO. 20 HOME DEPOT PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:

"We went from one side of the fence to the other side of the fence. It seemed like we fought loose at the start and then were too tight at the end. Once we got our chassis tightened up, we were just way too aero tight. Then, you free the chassis up and you get too loose when people get behind you.

"It's frustrating right now. It's pretty obvious that the Fords are the dominant race car with the changes that they've made to them (the Fords), if you look back this year. It's just frustrating, and it's frustrating because they gave that to them to make them there. They didn't work for it."

TONY STEWART, NO. 20 HOME DEPOT PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:

"I'm really proud of the guys, to be honest. We gave the guys a pretty rough time last week at The Winston - not only during qualifying, but in the one green flag stop we had, too. I was pretty hard on them about it. But, I'm really, really proud of the team. They passed more cars tonight than I did. When you've got a crew like that the comes back and rebounds from a hard weekend like that, it makes you really proud. We weren't that good all night. We didn't have a car that would run in traffic at all. We had to wait for cars to stretch out. Then, by the time you could pass, either somebody would wreck or it would be at the end of the run anyway. It just kind of makes life hard for you."
